This interactive plenary session focuses on how to draft a resume (CV) for an academic application that provides sufficient  information to give a clear insight into your profile. A good academic CV showcases your skills and your academic and professional achievements concisely and effectively, while trying to maintain a balance in the amount of information.

Through discussion, shared experience and a few authentic examples, Tom De Moor can respond to frequently raised questions, debunk certain myths and provide tips & tricks in terms of content, structure and style.

Guest speaker:  Tom De Moor has been working for the University Language Centre (UCT) of Ghent University since 2008, where he currently coordinates and teaches Academic and Professional Language Education. He specializes in academic English for doctoral and professorial staff, with a specific focus on application skills. He has developed and teaches the Doctoral Schools module “Applying for a post-PhD Job” and is involved in coaching for various types of grants, such as FWO, ERC and FKM. (*)
