[KBS] 2025 Call for projects "Fundamental research on the mechanisms of pediatric cancers"

The King Baudouin Foundation (KBF) is pleased to announce the launch of a call for fundamental research on the mechanisms of pediatric cancers by the Funds for research in pediatric hematology-oncology, managed by KBF. 

The call

Fundamental research on the mechanisms of pediatric cancers with clear perspective for clinical applications in medicine.

The aim of the project

The introduced research project aims to improve the understanding of pediatric tumor biology, including (but not limited to) studies on genetic change, signaling pathways and tumor microenvironment. The project should be specific to pediatric cancers and include clear perspectives for applications in medicine. Collaborations between laboratory scientists and clinicians are strongly encouraged.

Application criteria and process

Projects that involve collaboration between research teams internationally must be initiated and coordinated by the team based in Belgium. 

  • A budget of € 170.000 is available to support a single research project covering a working period of two years.
