[UOS] Call announcement - Global Minds Short Research Stays (SRS) & Short Teaching Stays (STS)

The new Global Minds five year programme will run from September 2022 until August 2027 and is designed as an ‘innovator’ programme that will

1.      increase the production and application of innovative solutions to global challenges, and

2.      sustain, improve and expand the equitable collaboration with partners in the Global South.

The Global Minds Fund is addressed to all staff and students, whether or not already active in Global South partnerships.  

The first Global Minds calls of the new programme will be launched on August 10. Deadline for submissions is Friday 14 October 2022, 5:00 pm (Belgian time). The budget has to be spent between 1 November 2022 and 31 August 2023. All information will be available on www.ugent.be/globalminds.

 

Short Research Stays (SRS)

Ghent University wishes to provide funding to junior and senior researchers from one of the 37 VLIR-UOS countries who wish to spend a short research stay (SRS) at Ghent University to support and expand their ongoing research on global challenges.

Visitors will receive a monthly allowance for a stay between 1 month and 90 days (€1500/month).

 

Short Teaching Stays (STS)

Ghent University wishes to provide funding to junior and senior researchers, teachers and practitioners from one of the 37 VLIR-UOS countries who wish to spend a short teaching stay (STS) at Ghent University to acquire transversal competencies and state-of-the art knowledge on sustainable development enabling them to become critical global citizens motivated to act as change agents in their network.

Visitors will receive a monthly allowance for a stay between 1 month and 90 days (€1500/month). The Global Minds Fund additionally provides the reimbursement of the airline round-trip ticket. Moreover, an additional budget up to €3.500 can be requested for the development of educational tools.
