[BOF] Oproep interuniversitaire BOF projecten (iBOF)

De tweejaarlijkse oproep voor interuniversitaire BOF-projecten (iBOF) staat opnieuw open. Binnen het iBOF-programma wordt excellent en grensverleggend onderzoek gesteund dat uitgevoerd wordt in een samenwerkingsverband van minstens 3 promotoren aan minstens 2 Vlaamse universiteiten. iBOF brengt toponderzoekers samen, die dankzij een dergelijk interuniversitair project de internationale uitstraling van Vlaanderen vergroten. iBOF projecten hebben een looptijd van 4 jaar. Elke promotor brengt een expertise aan die essentieel is voor de uitvoering van het voorstel. Tegelijk moeten de promotoren complementair en/of versterkend zijn en hebben ze elkaar nodig om het project in synergie te kunnen uitvoeren. De betrokkenheid van veelbelovende wetenschappelijke junior onderzoekers, minstens op niveau van de co-promotor, strekt tot de aanbeveling. Voorstellen uit alle domeinen zijn mogelijk, zowel mono- als interdisciplinaire projecten.

Het aan te vragen totaalbedrag per promotor varieert tussen 450.000 en 900.000 euro, met een maximum van 3.375.000 euro per consortium wanneer minstens 3 instellingen betrokken zijn, en 2.375.000 euro wanneer 2 instellingen betrokken zijn. Het aandeel van één partnerinstelling is beperkt tot 65% van het totaal aangevraagde projectbudget.

Call for Interuniversity BOF projects (iBOF)

The biannual  call for the iBOF-programme has recently been launched. Within the iBOF programme, excellent, pioneering frontier or blue-sky research is supported that will be carried out in a consortium of at least 3 promoters from at least 2 Flemish universities. An iBOF project brings together top researchers who through such an interuniversity project, will (further) promote Flanders at an international level by deepening or broadening scientific knowledge and increasing capacity building in a sustainable partnership. IBOF projects have a duration of 4 year. Each promoter provides essential expertise for the realization of the proposal. At the same time, the promoters must be complementary to each other and/or mutually reinforcing as they need each other to be able to carry out the project in synergy. The involvement of promising scientifically junior researchers, at least as co-promotor, is highly recommended. Proposals from all domains are possible, both mono- and interdisciplinary project proposals.

The total amount that can be requested per promoter varies between 450.000 and 900.000 euro, with a maximum of 3.375.000 euro per consortium when at least 3 institutions are involved, and 2.375.000 euro when only 2 institutions are involved. The share of one partner institution is limited to 65% of the total budget.
