VLIRUOS heeft de TEAM 2026-oproep gelanceerd voor projecten die focussen op duurzame samenwerking tussen Vlaamse hogeronderwijsinstellingen en partners in het Zuiden. Met een TEAM-project kunt u onderwijs, onderzoek en maatschappelijke impact verbinden via duurzame internationale partnerschappen.
Waarom indienen?
Wilt u uw internationale onderzoeks- of onderwijssamenwerking rond uitdagingen op het gebied van duurzame ontwikkeling uitbreiden? Met de TEAM 2026-oproep ondersteunt VLIRUOS projecten die gezamenlijk kennis creëren, onderwijs versterken en maatschappelijke impact realiseren.
Wat kunt u doen?
- Werk samen met een partnerinstelling in een van de 17.
- Ontwikkel een project van maximaal 5 jaar dat focust op onderwijs, onderzoek, beleid of kennisvalorisatie.
- Zorg voor een grondige contextanalyse, partnerschapsvisie en duurzame output.
- Betrek indien mogelijk andere Vlaamse instellingen of hogescholen – dit wordt sterk aangemoedigd.
Belangrijk om weten:
- Budget: max. € 300.000 voor een projectduur van max. 5 jaar.
- Start project: 1 september 2026.
- Uw partnerschap moet bestaan uit een Vlaamse promotor + minstens één partnerinstelling in een van de geselecteerde landen.
- Voorwaarden: minimale besteding van € 50.000 in het eerste projectjaar.
Let op! Er is slechts één selectieronde – dus u moet direct een volledige aanvraag indienen.

- Ontwerpvoorstel: indienen bij Steven Schoofs (steven.schoofs@ugent.be) vóór 12 februari 2026 voor gegarandeerde feedback.
- Start uw voorstel uiterlijk 2 februari 2026 in de VLIRUOS-projecttool.
Overzicht deadlines:
- 2 februari 2026: start uw voorstel in de VLIR-UOS projecttool
- 9 februari 2026: indiening conceptbegroting: uiterlijk
- 12 februari 2026: indiening conceptvoorstel voor gegarandeerde feedback.
- 3 maart 2026 (17:00 uur CET) deadline voor de laatste indiening

VLIRUOS has launched the TEAM 2026 call for projects that focus on sustainable cooperation between Flemish higher education institutions and partners in the Global South. With a TEAM project you can connect education, research and social impact through sustainable international partnerships.
Why apply?
Do you want to expand your international research or education collaboration around sustainable development challenges? With the TEAM 2026 call, VLIRUOS supports projects that jointly create knowledge, strengthen education and achieve social impact.
What can you do?
- Work together with a partner institution in one of the 17 partner countries.
- Develop a project of max. 5 years that focuses on education, research, policy or knowledge valorization.
- Provide a thorough context analysis, partnership vision and sustainable output.
- If possible, involve other Flemish institutions or colleges — this is strongly encouraged.
Key information:
- Budget: max. €300,000 for a project duration of max. 5 years.
- Project start: September 1, 2026.
- Your partnership must consist of a Flemish promoter + at least one partner institution in one of the selected countries.
- Conditions: minimum expenditure of €50,000 in the first project year.
Important! there is only one selection round — so you must submit a complete application immediately.
