Nieuwe oproepen
FWO kondigt twee nieuwe oproepen voor gezamenlijke mobiliteitsprojecten aan, enerzijds met de Taiwanese National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) en anderzijds met de Zuid-Koreaanse National Research Foundation (NRF).
Beide oproepen worden gelanceerd voor het financieren van tweejarige gezamenlijke mobiliteitsprojecten (aan FWO-zijde: financiering van verplaatsing-, logements- en verblijfkosten) in alle wetenschappelijke disciplines.
Aanvragen moeten zowel worden ingediend bij FWO door een onderzoeksgroep uit Vlaanderen als door Taiwanese of Zuid-Koreaanse partners bij respectievelijk NSTC of NRF. Deze samenwerkingsakkoorden wensen vooral junior onderzoekers de kans te bieden om hun mobiliteit te verwezenlijken. Per mobiliteitsproject dient aan Vlaamse zijde dan ook minstens één junior onderzoeker – een PhD student of postdoctoraal onderzoeker met niet meer dan 12 jaar postdoc ervaring – te worden betrokken (eerste doctoraatsdiploma mag maximaal 12 jaar vóór de uiterste indiendatum van het project verworven zijn, te tellen vanaf de datum waarop het doctoraatsdiploma werd verkregen).
Binnen deze mobiliteitsprojecten voorziet het FWO voor de Vlaamse onderzoekers een verblijfsvergoeding van € 66 per dag (of max. € 1 650 per maand) bovenop de verplaatsingskosten, te boeken bij een door het FWO gemachtigd reisagentschap. Nieuw digitaal indieningssysteem
Aanvragen voor mobiliteitsprojecten (inclusief voor samenwerking met Taiwan en met Zuid-Korea) worden voortaan ingediend via het FWO e-loket gebruikmakend van het correcte specifieke aanvraagformulier onder de sectie ‘International collaboration / Mobility projects’. Let wel: omwille van administratief-technische redenen zal het aanvraagformulier voor NRF Zuid-Korea pas beschikbaar zijn in het FWO e-loket vanaf 15 april 2024.
De toegekende projecten zullen starten in januari 2025 en hebben een looptijd van 01/01/2025 – 31/12/2026.

New calls
The Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) announces the launch of two new calls for joint mobility projects with the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) on the one hand, and the South Korean National Research Foundation (NRF) on the other hand.
Both calls are launched for two-year joint mobility projects (at FWO side: funding of travel, accommodation and living expenses) in all scientific disciplines.
Project proposals have to be submitted at FWO by a research group from Flanders and as well by a research group from Taiwan or South Korea at NSTC or NRF. This collaboration agreements aim to offer junior researchers the possibility to realize their mobility. Therefore, in each mobility project at Flemish side at least one junior researcher – a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher with no more than 12 years of postdoctoral experience – should be engaged (i.e. first PhD degree can be obtained maximally 12 years before the submission deadline of the project, to be counted from the date of obtaining the doctoral degree).
Within these joint mobility projects, FWO pays the researchers from Flanders a daily living allowance of € 66 per day (or max. € 1,650 per month) on top of the travel expenses, to be booked through a travel agency authorized by the FWO. New digital submission system
In the light of further optimization, recent changes have been made to set up a digital (no longer by e-mail) submission system for applications for mobility projects. As from today, this type of applications (including cooperation with Taiwan and South Korea) needs to be submitted through the FWO E-loket by using the correct specific application form under the section ‘International collaboration / Mobility projects’. Please be aware: because of administrative-technical reasons the application form for NRF South Korea will only be available in the FWO E-portal from 15th of April 2024 onwards.
Granted projects will start in January 2025 and will run from 01/01/2025 – 31/12/2026.
