[FWO] Oproep Weave projecten | Call Weave projects

Het Weave financieringskanaal volgt het reglement voor FWO junior en senior onderzoeksprojecten. De ontvankelijkheidsregels voor (co-)promotoren en budget zijn dezelfde als voor een regulier junior/senior onderzoeksproject. 

Infosessie: 23 februari 2026

Het FWO organiseert in samenwerking met F.R.S.-FNRS op 23 februari 2026 een infosessie over Weave projecten. Je kan inschrijven via deze link. 

Interne deadline: 12 maart 2026

Wil je een Weave projectaanvraag indienen? Vanuit Team Projecten Vlaams Federaal bieden we graag ondersteuning. 

• Indiening met FWO als lead agency (Deadline 1 april 2026)

Dien je aanvraag in via het FWO e-loket ten laatste op 12 maart. Zo kunnen we je projectaanvraag nakijken op ontvankelijkheid. 
We kunnen de aanvraag opnieuw openstellen in het e-loket zodat je kan verderwerken tot de FWO deadline. 

• Indiening met FWO als partner agency (Deadline 1 april 2026)

Dien je aanvraag ten laatste op 12 maart in via e-mail zodat we deze kunnen nakijken. Gebruik het pdf-document vanop het FWO e-loket (Research project WEAVE (FWO acts as Partner Agency))

Let op: je mag als (co)promotor betrokken zijn bij slechts 1 projectaanvraag.
De regel dat voor een aanvrager maximum 2 lopende en/of aangevraagde projecten in totaal zijn toegestaan blijft behouden. (Instelling-overschrijdende projecten waarvoor een (co)promotor voor de volledige projectduur geen budget heeft aangevraagd tellen niet mee voor dit maximum.) Dit maximum geldt ook voor Weave-projecten.
Je moet dus kiezen om een aanvraag in te dienen voor een regulier project OF een Weave-project. 

Vooraanmelding: 12 februari 2026

Om je vooraf te ondersteunen, werken we met een vooraanmelding. Als je voor 12 februari via volgende link doorgeeft dat je een onderzoeksproject plant in te dienen, kunnen we een proactieve opvolging garanderen:

• We bezorgen je per e-mail een overzicht van de ontvankelijkheidscriteria en reglementaire wijzigingen ten opzichte van de oproep 2025. 
• We brengen onze collega’s van het Biblioteam (onderdeel van Team Open Science/Cluster Universiteitsbibliotheek) op de hoogte dat je zal indienen. Zo kunnen zij jouw records in Biblio nakijken en ondersteuning bieden bij de export van publicaties naar het FWO e-loket.
• We kijken de ontvankelijkheid als (co-) promotor meteen na en signaleren zo eventuele ontvankelijkheidsproblemen tijdig.

The Weave funding channel follows the regulations for FWO junior and senior research projects. The eligibility criteria for (co)supervisors and budget are the same as for a junior/senior research project. 

Information session: 23 February 2026

The FWO organises in collaboration with F.R.S.-FNRS an online information session about Weave projects on 23 February 2026. You can register via this link. 

Internal deadline: 12 March 2026

Are you planning to submit a Weave proposal? Team National Funding will support you in preparing the application. 

• Submission with FWO as lead agency (Deadline 1 April 2026)

Submit your application via the FWO e-portal by 12 March at the latest. This allows Team National Funding to check the eligibility of the proposal. We can re-open the application in the e-portal to allow you to continue working until the FWO deadline. 

• Submission with FWO as partner agency (Deadline 1 April 2026)

Submit your application via e-mail on 12 March at the latest. Please use the PDF file from the FWO e-portal (Research project WEAVE (FWO acts as Partner Agency)).

Please note: only 1 project application can be submitted per (co)supervisor. 
The rule that a maximum of 2 ongoing and/or applied projects in total are allowed per applicant will be maintained. (Cross-institution projects for which a (co)supervisor has not applied for a budget covering the entire project duration do not count towards this maximum). This maximum also applies to Weave projects.

Therefore, you must choose whether to apply for a regular project or a Weave project. 

Preregistration: 12 February 2026

To support you in advance as well, there is a preregistration. If you inform Team National Funding via this link before 12 February that you are planning to submit a research project, we can guarantee a proactive follow-up: 

• We send you an overview of the eligibility criteria and changes in the regulations as compared to last year by e-mail.
• We inform our colleagues from the Biblio team that you will submit a proposal. This allows them to check your records in Biblio and offer support with the export of publications to the FWO e-portal
• We immediately check the eligibility as a (co-)promotor and warn you if there is a problem.
