Masterclass for international PhD and Postdoc: Responding Appropriately to Inappropriate Behavior

Thursday afternoon, May 16, DPO is organising a Master Class on how to respond appropriately to inappropriate behavior.

For the first time, this session is open to international PhD and Postdoc.

Anonymous example: Recently, a student sat with me in tears because her supervisor communicates in a way that goes far beyond the boundaries (genre: 'it's not because you wear a headscarf that we have to take that into account' or: 'you should be happy that you 'is allowed to work here', always in front of a whole group of colleagues).

The training is also accessible to every employee at Ghent University. The document in the attachment states that you must first have completed the basic training, but this is not correct. Anyone can register, even if you did not follow the first module.

Of course, the example above is just one of the possibilities of inappropriate behavior but the training is about appropriate behavior in all contexts. The Masterclass is a kind of pilot project that can easily continue if there are sufficient registrations. Hence this warm appeal to spread this further or to register yourself.

Because it is accessible to international PhD students/postdocs, it can be found under the English-language training offers.

This is the direct link of the session.

Thank you for spreading the word (or even better: subscribing!)

Deadline for subscription: 9 May
